Olivia Ballantine
Shop Manager

After being a swimmer for several years, Olivia found her passion for running after her mum introduced her to Parkrun, where she became a regular participant. Since then, she has now taken on 10k events and her first Half Marathon! Away from being Assistant Manager at the shop, Olivia enjoys a bit of Parkrun tourism and hopes to take on more half marathons in the future. However, her favourite event she likes to take part in each year is Run Balmoral for its scenic trail routes and stunning views!

Lottie Hesp
Assistant Manager

Lottie joined the team in April 2023 after finding a passion for running alongside playing performance rugby at Edinburgh University, where she is in her fourth year of a degree in Politics. Having dabbled in many sports in the past, including hockey, mountain biking and netball, she has a love for the great outdoors and constantly challenging herself to push her capabilities. Lottie successfully completed her first marathon at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival in May 2023 and is looking forward to experiencing more running events in the future!

Gilles started running in February 2014 after a health scare, in order to improve fitness. He has run many races from 5k up to marathon distance but gets most enjoyment doing Parkruns with his 2 sons. Gilles joined Run4It in April 2019 and his other hobbies include golf, going to the gym, listening to music and attending concerts.

Kieran started running (officially) a few years ago after running the seven hills of Edinburgh route with some friends. Since then he has completed multiple half marathons and always makes sure to get a run in when visiting a new city. He plays futsal for Edinburgh-based team North Sea FC and studies Business with marketing at QMU.

Sheryl started running about 9 years ago and discovered a love for trail running after taking part in a number of road-based events. Her favourite running challenges have been out on Scotland's beautiful trails and she has completed several ultras. She likes to describe them as "moving picnics"!

Ken Dickson
Team Member

After a gap of about 20 years Ken restarted running in his mid 40s. From barely 1-2km a run he has now managed to complete two marathons and six half marathons through to his late 50s. The highlights of these were the 2022 Great North Run and 2021 London Marathon - where the crowd support was truly amazing. Ken has found a real joy from distance running and he is evangelical about the physical and mental benefits found from these activities. Running became an important part of his coping mechanism, especially during lockdown, and he can really recommend taking up running challenges in order to improve overall health and wellbeing.

Harris Pagett
Team Member

Harris started running in late 2019 after joining his local club Strathearn Harriers following some small success at an annual kilt race. Initially as a supplement to rugby it quickly became his preferred, and now sole sport. Harris competes regularly in a wide range of events from 800m on the track to the occasional half marathon or long classic hill series event. However he is most passionate about hill racing and cross country where he has had the most success picking up several junior Scottish vests and an u20 short course cross country title.

Vincent Huang
Team Member

Vincent’s love for running began with a 200m track race in high school. He wasn’t chasing victory, but the thrill and freedom in movement. After stepping away due to injury, he returned in 2020 and now enjoys casual runs alongside calisthenics. He’s completed a 10k and has plans for a half marathon. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Physiotherapy at Edinburgh Napier, Vincent is passionate about biomechanics and rehabilitation. To him, running is a form of meditation. He believes running should be treated not as a means to an end, but as the end itself.

Matthew Holden
Team Member

Matthew started running in early 2017 for Harmeny Athletics Club in Edinburgh. He takes part in events ranging from 800m through to cross country in the winter but feels his speciality lies in the 1500m on the track. Matthew enjoys the competitive side of athletics and the challenge of constantly pushing his limits in training and racing.

Harley Turnbull
Team Member

Harley recently began running casually as a way to improve his Basketball performance, but has since discovered a sense of enjoyment and fulfilment from it. He hopes to develop and explore the different types of running by working at Run4It. He has always been interested in the technology involved with shoes and their effect on the wearer, having spent way too many hours researching basketball shoes. Harley hopes to study Biotechnology at university next year in Edinburgh, and can be found in the stands supporting both the Edinburgh and Scotland rugby teams.
