John is a seasoned runner, who will take on any challenge, from Parkrun to ultra. Although most of his fast twitch fibres appear to have deserted him, he still enjoys taking part and sharing his experiences with fellow runners. He is not averse to running in disguise (Peter pan or a Smurf! to name but two) and enjoys his annual pilgrimage to Durness to compete in the Cape Wrath challenges.
Romain joined Run4It in 2016, only a few weeks after he landed in Scotland. Senior Assistant Manager at the Dundee store and Senior Retail Manager, Romain’s a busy chap, but he spends his free time wisely – out in the open, tearing up the Scottish hills and trails.
Kari joined the team in April 2022 and studies Dentistry at the University of Dundee. Through her childhood of running with her dad and competing in swimming and gymnastics, she has realised her love for ultra running. Her 1st ultra was the Speyside way 2021, where she was the youngest runner by some 3 years, this ignited her passion and she now has more races planned for this year.
Michael started running to get into shape for football but ended up becoming a distance runner for Fife AC. A physio’s worst nightmare, he spends most of his time injured, but when he can actually run he loves running cross country and can often be found lying exhausted on the ground at the end of a race.
Ivan joined Run4It in October 2022. Those who know him say it's the perfect job for him, given his extensive sport shoe collection and love for running. Originally from Argentina, Ivan uses running as a way to explore Scotland. When he's not in the CrossFit gym, you'll find him training for his next half-marathon, or maybe a wee bit further.
Laurence joined the team in August 2024. He has been running competitively for over 8 years. He primarily competes over middle distance (800m/1500m) on the track, but enjoys running Cross-country and road races in the winter. Highlights to Laurence's running career so far, include winning the Scottish University Outdoor 800m title in 2024. He is passionate about improving the wellbeing of others through running, at whatever level they may be at.
Stay tuned for the return of our monthly trail run series!
These runs take place at Tentsmuir forest and are usually held on the first Friday of every month. All runners welcome!
There are several jogscotland groups who stop by the shop - Angus, Fife, and City of Dundee all immediately spring to mind. Visit the jogscotland website to search for your nearest group and beome a member.
We are closely affiliated with the 'Hawks', a long established and friendly club with a whole mix of levels, abilities and age groups.
Based at University of Dundee in the city centre, the Dundee Road Runners meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30pm. The club organise the popular Templeton 10 mile road race in November and Templeton Trail race in June. They cater for a wide range of abilities.
Another local club we are proud to support. The club meets at Bell's Sports Centre on the North Inch on a Tuesday at 6.30pm, again catering for all abilities. They host 2 very popular races in the year, the Tay 10 in April and the Brig Bash 5 in July.
The club meets at various locations all year round, usually on Mondays at 6:30pm at Reid Park during the summer months and at Market Muir during the winter months.
Wednesdays at 6:30pm at New School Campus (Beginners/Improvers should be at the New School Campus from 6:20pm). They also host 3 very popular races in the year, which we are pleased to support, the Multi Terrain Half Marathon in February, the Forfar 10K in August and the Glen Clova Half Marathon in November.
We think Fife organise more events than any other club we know but are happy to be proven wrong! The club have training nights at venues throughout Fife and welcome most ages and all abilities. They are active in both the road running and hill running scenes.
A friendly and very active club in the east neuk of Fife.
A relatively new club we've made friends with. They have a really active training programme and an active Facebook page.
We are great friends with Alastair Dall at Footcare Scotland, a very busy and successful podiatrist based in Perth. We are happy to send people over to Alastair as his knowledge and ethics are second to none.
We have worked closely with Heal Physiotherapy since we opened, expertly lead by Lynne and Sally, who head a team of experienced physiotherapists with the specialist knowledge and expertise to enable you to look after yourself and to enhance performance and prevent injuries. They have practices on Dudhope Street, Dundee and within Saints Sports in St Andrews University.
Based at Good Health & Fitness in the City Quay, where Stephen is the managing director and senior instructor, both Stephen and Louise have the expertise to help you achieve your fitness goals. If you want some really good strength and conditioning training to help with your running, these are the people to speak to. Louise has been known to run the odd ultra or two as well!
We are often told that the difference between us and other shops is our people. We think they are just the best. Each team member goes through a period of induction, training and assessment no matter what the job is. Over the years we have invested a load not just in the training but also in ensuring that we are giving the team the very best possible terms and conditions we can – it’s even written down in our business values.
