To ensure that you’ve got plenty of running shoes to choose from we stock running shoes from most of the leading brands including adidas, ASICS, Nike, Altra, HOKA, inov-8, Salomon, Brooks, Saucony, New Balance, On, Mizuno, and True Motion - the latest running shoe brand to be stocked here at Run4It. When it comes to choosing the best running shoes, our advice is to pay a lot of attention to the type of surface you will be running on, as road running shoes are unlikely to provide enough grip on the trails, and trail running shoes will rarely provide enough grip on roads, as the rubber studs on the soles of trail running shoes don’t result in all that much rubber being in contact with the concrete of paved road surfaces. Most runners look to ensure that their road shoes offer a stable platform on which to run. If you are chasing a target time, it is also a good idea to consider the amount of responsiveness and propulsion offered by the shoes you are considering. Stability is much less important in trail running shoes, as it is important that the shoes are flexible enough to adapt to the terrain. Of course, it’s not all about the roads and the trails. If you need shoes for running on the track, it is possible to choose track running spikes which have features that are specifically designed to help you run your chosen discipline. For example, a flatter pair of running spikes will be better suited to longer distances in comparison to more angled spikes that have been designed with shorter or middle distance running in-mind. Most road running shoes will last approximately 500 miles or 800 kilometres before they are worn out, although some lightweight running shoes will last for lesser distances as there sometimes have to be compromises to durability in order to reduce the weight of running shoes. It is always a good idea to keep an eye on the rubber on the soles of your road running shoes, as the rubber is often the most durable part of the outsole and it protects the midsole from damage. On other types of running shoes, it can be harder to put a timescale on the lifespan of the shoes; however, we would recommend paying attention to the outsoles of shoes along with the uppers. If cracks in the outsoles appear or splits appear in the uppers, these are often clear signs that shoes have lost some of their structure.
