Advice for Road Runners: The Saucony Women's Ride 16 in the Shadow/Lux colourway are neutral running shoes. Given how cushioned these feel, they are exceptionally lightweight.
The Saucony Ride 16 features a thick layer of PWRRUN cushioning. This material should feel soft and yet responsive. Meaning it performs over a range of paces. Additionally, the curved geometry from heel-to-toe rolls your feet forward, taking the stress off your calf muscles.
You'll enjoy even more cushioning from the PWRRUN+ sockliner. This premium sockliner feels very plush underfoot.
Even though the Saucony 16 are neutral running shoes, the midsole walls rise up. This means your feet sit into the cushioning and feel more supported.
The seamless mesh upper in the Saucony Ride 16 should feel light and breathable. With a high thread count, we expect you'll find the upper very comfortable.
The pink midfoot straps call out the webbing that locks your mid-foot into position.
While the Saucony Women's Ride 16 neutral running shoes should feel best at slower to steady paces, the midsole is responsive enough for some faster efforts. For this reason, they're a great all-rounder and should work well as marathon training running shoes.
As the midsole is so cushioned and features a rocker shaped geometry, your long runs should be made easier. We understand how demanding these endurance training runs can be, so also appreciate how important it is to make them as comfortable as possible.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
