The Pegasus 40 has a midsole that contains two Zoom Air units - one in the heel and another in the forefoot. The midsole also contains React foam. This results in a midsole that offers a protective, yet responsive underfoot feel. There are no changes between the midsole of the Pegasus 39 and the midsole of the Pegasus 40.
Three significant updates were made to the upper of the Pegasus 40. The updates consist of:
The main advantages of the updates noted above are that they create an upper which has better comfort and breathability, and an improved capability to accommodate different foot shapes.
As mentioned, the Nike Women's Air Zoom Pegasus 40 Road Running Shoes offer a protective, yet responsive running experience. These neutral running shoes are best matched to daily training miles at steady to moderate paces, perhaps with some faster running at points during parts of your run.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
The technical features above are based on a women's US size 8 shoe.
