Underfoot Feel
The Topo Athletic Specter 2 Running Shoes feature a full-length Pebax Powered® midsole. This ultra-cushioned midsole should feel exceptionally energetic and responsive under your feet. Ultimately making it easier for you to maintain your pace.
As the stack height is relatively high, the midsole should also feel very protective - which should improve comfort for longer distances. It's also worth stating that the cushioning should perform across a wide range of paces.
Upper Fit
Like all Topo Athletic Running Shoes, the Specter 2 comes with a roomy toe box design. The anatomical toe box helps toes splay naturally, and should offer more room than competitor models.
At the same time, the midfoot and heel counter offers a more secure fit - which is very beneficial when you're trying to run faster.
Ideal Run Type
The Topo Athletic Men's Specter 2 Running Shoes should perform at their best during tempo effort runs and faster-paced sessions. However, you shouldn't be surprised if these feel very comfortable for steady run days, and the occasional easy run.
Additionally, these should work very well for longer distance runs. Especially if you're mixing up the pace. For example, you might start slowly, and gradually build up the pace.
