Underfoot Feel
A thick layer of EnergyCell+ cushioning offers a soft and protective underfoot experience.
In contrast to many trail running shoes, the Salomon Speedcross 6 Running Shoes feature a 10 mm heel to toe drop. This means there's a lot of heel protection. Some runners may find this very beneficial on long descents.
The widely-spaced 5 mm lugs on the Mud Contagrip outsole are deep and aggressive. As a result, the Speedcross delivers great traction on both loose and muddy surfaces.
Upper Fit
You should expect the Salomon Speedcross 6 Running Shoes' upper to feel very supportive. This is because they feature Salomon's foot hugging Sensifit construction.
The Quicklace system also helps improve the distribution of pressure across the top of your feet. It's also very unlikely to come undone. This system stows away under a pouch on the tongue.
Ideal Run Type
The Salomon Men's Speedcross 6 Running Shoes are best suited to muddy trail runs and steeper slopes. The high level of cushioning makes them a great option for long distance events.
We recommend minimising how much you use them on hard-packed ground. This is because you'll wear away the tread.

Sizing Advice
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
