Underfoot Feel
The New Balance 1080 v14 Running Shoes still features a Fresh Foam X midsole - which is tuned to feel very soft and plush. However, the midsole should feel more stable than the previous version. This is because the midsole walls are higher, and there's more vertical sidewall geometry.
The outsole section of the forefoot is 9% stiffer. This improves the responsiveness at toe-off - hopefully making it easier to maintain your pace. It's likely the additional stiffness will improve the effectiveness of the rocker geometry too.
Upper Fit
A new engineered mesh offers increased breathability in key areas. The New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080 v14 upper should also be softer than the previous version.
Ideal Run Type
The New Balance Men's Fresh Foam X 1080 v14 Running Shoes should perform at their best when comfort is your main priority. The ultra-soft cushioning offers great protection for slower paced runs, and long distances. Although, the adjusted forefoot stiffness should make these more suitable for steadier runs too.
