Underfoot Feel
The outsole should feel comfortable on compact ground, and then ultra-grippy on technical surfaces. This is because the HOKA Speedgoat 6 Running Shoes feature a Vibram MegaGrip with Traction Lug outsole, with 5 mm lugs.
To explain further, it's unlikely you'll be overly aware of the lugs on firm ground. However, when you hit looser surfaces, the lugs will dig in and provide traction. As the outsole design is also inspired by the hoof of a goat, it should adapt very well to uneven ground.
The light and responsive foam should help you maintain your pace on loose surfaces. It offers ample protection for longer distances on firm ground.
Upper Fit
Foot swelling is a common occurrence in long distance trail runs. To overcome this, the HOKA Speedgoat 6 Trail Running Shoes features a dynamic vamp across the toe box. This design can adapt to changes in foot shape.
The woven textile upper has an internal support chassis, which should deliver a secure fit. Finally, a plush dual-sided gusseted tongue prevents debris from entering.

Sizing Advice
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
