Description

Advice for Road Runners: The Saucony Men's Guide 17 Running Shoes are designed to deliver comfort and stability.

The Saucony Guide is a very well-established style of stability road running shoes, and the 17th edition should be a great choice for runners seeking cushioning and additional support.

Underfoot Feel

The Guide 17 should feel very cushioned, stable and protective underneath your feet.

From a stability perspective, Saucony's Center Path Technology is key to the Guide 17's performance. Saucony's Center Path technology means that the Guide 17 have:

  • A broad platform;
  • High sidewalls;
  • An asymmetric profile; and
  • A rocker shape.

The technology mentioned above should provide guidance and support, helping you to move naturally through your gait cycle.

From a cushioning perspective, the Saucony PWRRUN midsole - an EVA-based cushioning - should provide a lot of plush and durable cushioning along with some energy return. The underfoot comfort doesn't stem purely from the midsole material. A Saucony PWRUN+ Sockliner also helps to enhance comfort.

Upper Fit

The upper should feel supportive but not restrictive. In line with the technology in the midsole, the upper is designed to be very comfortable.

Ideal Run Type

The Saucony Men's Guide 17 Running Shoes are best for road runs when comfort and added stability are a priority. They are best suited to easy and steady paced training runs, and are suitable for short runs through to long runs at those intensity levels.

Technical Features

  • Approximate weight: 269 grams
  • Drop: 6 mm
  • Forefoot stack height: 29 mm
  • Rearfoot stack height: 35 mm

Sizing Advice

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
